Mel & Larry celebrated down in Wollongong at the City Beach Function Centre on a beautiful spring day. Their cake was custom designed with one tier an ode to her South African roots with painted proteas, one featuring her dress lace and another with a hand piped monogram from their invite suite.
Each tier of cake highlighted a different flavour that the couple loved. The top was a classic vanilla cake with a creamy biscoff ganache. The middle was classic vanilla cake with homemade salted caramel ganache and the base featured our super popular red velvet cake with raspberries & cream ganache. Mel had quite a few dietary restrictions that we were able to accommodate easily, switching out ingredients like coconut and sunflower oil for more fodmap friendly options.
We sourced seasonal roses & greenery from The Flowerroom and I was so pleased with how they perfectly complimented Mel’s bouquet.
Delivering a cake for an out of town wedding is always a bit more stressful, but Mel & Larry’s cake couldn’t have traveled smoother. The sharp edged fondant tiers and unique handmade design were all perfectly stable for both the travel and duration of the party. I’m so happy to see what a wonderful time they had!
